about pamela of ellasport – women’s athletic apparel

Hi!  My name is Pamela and I founded a women’s athletic apparel company - ellasport.  This was done out of extreme necessity!  I was REALLY tired of my running tank ending up around my neck after about 45 seconds of running!  And don’t even get me started on the shorts that ride up so far that my bikini bottom covers more!!  So I set out to make my own workout apparel that didn’t cause me such distress :)

ellasport.com launched in March 2009 and we have been getting amazing responses!!  Marathoners, triathlete’s, runners, spinners, volleyball players and gym goers are all among the women who are currently working out and training in their ellasport apparel.  I am relentlessly pursuing my mission of providing women with athletic apparel that does not ride up, fall down or otherwise distract you while you’re working out!  Of course, the fabric is moisture wicking so you can stay as dry as possible while you sweat your butt off.  And yes you will look amazing in it…dare I say, sexy!?  You be the judge.

I am so brand new to blogging so please bare with me as I am sure I will make plenty of rookie mistakes.  I plan to post or blog about anything and everything relating to fitness, health, nutrition, being female, etc.  But who knows where this will go?!  In time, I hope this blog becomes very interactive and a place where women come to share their stories and knowledge relating for fitness, apparel, nutrition, being a girl, whatever!

A little about me.  To pay the bills, I am still working as an environmental engineer and I teach Spin class for New York Sports Club (NYSC).  I play volleyball on a competitive women’s league with my girls The Spankers!  They’re awesome.  Hopefully they’ll write a post or two here and there about their ellasport gear. :)   So far their favorite’s are the Chelsea and the Gramercy, both are racerback tanks with an attached bra.  This is my third season doing Triathlons and I still get every bit as nervous as I did for the very first Sprint Tri in Central Park, NY three years ago.  The cycling leg is my favorite – I love the speed!!  Though I like the way my body feels and looks when I’m running a lot.  Swimming…well let’s say I do enough to get by.  I just don’t see what’s fun about swimming back and forth in a little pool (this is NY afterall), wearing SUPER UNFLATTERING swimsuit and a latex cap!!!  And I can never keep track of how many laps I’ve done so I always end up leaving the pool wondering if I did too much or too little.

Well enough about me, I want to hear from you!  Tell me, where do you shop for your workout gear?  What’s your favorite workout?  Training for anything?  Have nutrition or workout tips?

I look forward to hearing from and sharing with you!

Pam

PS – Here is a picture of my friend Nannette from our ride to Nyack, NY a few weeks ago – the GW bridge is in the background.  She is wearing the Chelsea Racerback tank in Placid Blue.
