About ellasport

Here at ellasport we are relentlessly pursuing our mission to provide women with technical athletic apparel that is designed for a woman’s body and makes you feel good. To do this we use the highest quality performance fabrics available, like Supplex® and Coolmax® that deliver amazing benefits like moisture-wicking, 4-way stretch, and a silky smooth feel against your skin.

Once constructed, we test our apparel for fit and performance by many types of athletes to gain different perspectives. Triathletes; marathoners, Spinners®, yogis, cyclists, volleyball players, and gym goers all test our products.

To make your life a little easier, we include useful components such as a zippered-pocket in the back of the capris to hold your cash, keys and even your iPod® or iPhone®, and mesh panels in particularly sweaty spots to help your skin breathe.

The four petals of the ellasport logo represent desire, power, strength, and femininity. These four attributes help to shape the woman you are and are the roots of ellasport.

About Pamela Oelerich

In 2006, ellasport was officially founded by Pamela Oelerich who was frustrated by the fit and feel of her athletic apparel. Though development began when Pam kicked her first soccer ball at age 6 and complained to mom, "my shorts fit funny". Starchy, ill-fitting shorts and tops appeared again in volleyball, field hockey, crew and rugby uniforms for Pam and her fellow female sport junkies.

"I always felt fat and unathletic when trying on athletic apparel because it didn’t fit me properly - the tanks were too tight at the hip, the pants were too short, and the shorts were like bikini bottoms! More importantly, the whole experience made me feel terrible about myself. But when I was wearing the one tank and capris that fit me well and I felt good in, I always had a great workout no matter what I was doing! I thought to myself, if only all my workout clothes made me feel this good about myself, I would workout so much more!"

That day ellasport was born and Pam’s mission made clear: to provide every woman with athletic apparel that is designed for her body and makes her feel good about herself.

Every chat I have with my Spin® students, Triathlon training partners and Central Park running friends, I further my understanding of the importance of athletic apparel fitting a woman’s curves properly while performing technically."

"Most importantly, I want to enable women to find their inner confidence and motivated self – the one that knows no limits – so they can reach their athletic goals. Whether you are training for your first 5K run or are a seasoned triathlete – you can not be worrying about your tank top riding up!"

Pam's most recent athletic endeavors include the New York City Triathlon, the New York City Half-Marathon, the MORE® magazine half-marathon in April 2010, the Nike Human Race 10K, playing volleyball with her women’s team, and teaching indoor cycling for Reebok Sports Club/NY, Sports Club LA/NY and NYSC.
